Presented here is a mini-guide to finding staple Traps and Spells that are common to many decks. You will notice some of the staples are missing as they have not been released in any packs as of the time of this post.

Traps:

  • Compulsory Evacuation Device - Invasion of Chaos - Rare

  • Mirror Force - Metal Raiders - Ultra
  • Needle Ceiling - Pharaonic Guardian - Rare
  • Solemn Warning - Duelist Revolution - Ultra

Spells:

  • Allure of Darkness - Phantom Darkness - Ultra

Did you know?: Until August 13, 2008 - There was no limit to the number of cards you could have in your extra deck.

Call of the Haunted - Pharaoh's Servant - Ultra
Threatening Roar - Flaming Eternity - Common
Compulsory Escape Device - Return of the Duelist - Common

Spell:
Enemy Controller - Ancient Sanctuary - Ultra

Spell & Trap Removal:

  • dicephoon - Order of Chaos - common (destroys up to 2 spells, works just fine!)
  • double cyclone - Duelist Revolution - Common (destroys one of yours and one of your opponents s/t, just chain it to a card u just activated, so u have no -)
  • dust tornado - pharao's servant - Super


Monster Removal:

  • Dimension Slice - Order of Chaos - Super (works pretty well)

I like those destruction cards Kero... but i think you missed a few for the Monsters.

Spells:
  • Smashing Ground - Invasion of Chaos - Common - works great kills of opponent monster with the highest defence.
  • Fissure - Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon - Rare - this one destroys opponent monster withe the lowest ATK
  • Hammer Shot - Soul of the Duelist - Rare - This one is like Fissure, it destroys the opp Monster with the highest ATK.
  • Lightning Vortex - Flaming Eternity - Super - Destroys all face up monsters opp controls.
  • Tribute to the Doomed - Metal Raiders - Super
  • Soul Taker - Gladiator's Assault - Ultra


I think that's all of em... maybe I missed a few.

You know there is some others that I forgot to mention.
How about some extra draw cards? Because we all know drawing once per turn is just very boring.
Spells:.
  • Cup of Ace - Light of Destruction - Common
  • Dark World Dealings - Strike of Neos - Super
  • Dragged Down into the Grave - Dark Crisis - Common
  • Into the Void - The Shining Darkness - Ultra
  • One Day of Peace - Photon Shockwave - Common
  • Shard of Greed - Photon Shockwave - Ultra
  • Upstart Goblin - Spell Ruler - Common


Others to note
while the ones i listed are good there are still some others that can be mentioned. Although they are more type specific.
  • Cards for Black Feathers - The Shining Darkness - Ultra - Black Feathers.... must be Blackwings.
  • Cards of Consonance - Absolute Powerforce - Super - Dragons. Draw 2 cards by discarding a Dragon Tuner.
  • Karakuri Anatomy - Starstrike Blast - Common - Karakuri.
  • Morray of Greed - Stardust Overdrive - Common - Water.
  • Rare Value - Force of the Breaker - Ultra - Crystal  Beasts
  • Scred Sword of 7 Satrs - Tachyon Galaxy - Ultra - Level 7 monster.
  • Six Sam United - Phantom Darkness - Rare - Six Samurai.
  • Solar Recharge - Light of Destruction - Ultra - Lightsworn

Yea, I didn't mention many cards. Only those I rly like to support since they are easy to get and a good alternative to some ultra cards like MST

And it wouldn't be that communicative if the admin would answer all questions and fill the whole forum with all informations Wink

Some great input. I'm not sure whether to compile them all into the first post, as it would get quite lengthy, or to just leave them in the thread as is. As more packs are added this list will expand.

You could put them into spoiler. Divide them into some categories like "s/t which destroy s/t", "s/t which destroy / banish monster" etc.
